摘要:PROLEGOMENA The presence of Silurian rocks in China was first made known by Richthofen [106] more than sixty years ago. Since then no further discovery has been added for a long time. It was in 1920 that Yabe and Hayasaka [150] described the second collection of Silurian fossils from China. After that date Silurian stratigraphy and paleontology have made rapid progress.

摘要:INTRODUCTIONA preliminary investigation of the early Palaeozoic stratigraphy of W Hunan was first carried out by Wang and Liu[1] who mapped a large part of the Anhua district in 1936. During our trip in the same district and -its neighbourhood, hunting for scheelite in the Middle Tzekiang valley, from April to June, 1948, we had an opportunity to study the pre-Devonian strata en route on meandering from one antimony mine to another. We, thus, encountered the unusual Sinian "marine tillite" under discussion and discovered the strata rich in Silurian fossils. Part of our time was devoted to the study of stratigraphic succession of the Panchi Series which is the oldest formation exposed.

摘要:Since the publication of H. C. Wang’s [14] paper on the stratigraphical position of the Devonian fish-bearing series of E Yunnan, a general agreement seems to be arrived at among Chinese geologists. Recently, however, C. S. Pien [22] discovered some dermal plates of Bothriolepis in a sandstone conformably overlying the Tientzulin limestone bearing Tentico-spirifer tenticulum, Camarotoechia hsikuangshanensis, C. hunanensis in N Kwangtung. He shows again some doubt on the early Eifelian age

摘要:Early in the autumn of 1945 while reviewing the Triassic collections made by the late Messrs. T. Y. Hsu and K. Chen from Kueichou the writer found some beautiful specimens of crinoids including several complete crowns labbelled Encrinus carnalli Beyrich by Hsu. This is, as the writer observed, nothing but a Traumatocrinus; for its stem bears the characteristic features of that genus and the crown is also right away from Encrinus.

摘要:The materials described in the present paper were collected by Mr. F. H. Chia from the Shihniulan limestone at Kingchikou near Sankengssu, about 25 km NE of the Wuchuan city, NE Kueichou. Three species of Petalocrinus are identified, namely, Petalocrinus inferior Bather, P. inflatus sp. nov., and P. chiai sp. nov. All of them are only represented by arm-fans. The genus is not uncommon in the Silurian strata of China, but it is not yet described heretofore.

摘要:The material of this short paper includes four species, one is a new form of Waagenophyllum, and the three others belong to a new subgenus named Liangshanophyllum. The specimens of the latter were collected by Y. H. Lu in 1942 from Liangshan, S Shensi, in a grayish black massive limestone, which is considered as the upper-most part of the Permian limestone at that region wish very abundant fossil corals of fasciculate cylindrical form. The new species of Waagenophyllum was collected in

摘要:INTRODUCTIONThe specimens described in the present paper were collected in 1939 by the late Mr. T. Y. Hsu and Mr. C. S. Pien from the Maping limestone exposed E of Tuikoshan, Chengkung district, Central Yunnan. All specimens belong to Zellia, a subgenus of Pseudoschwagerina; three forms may be referred to known subspecies while two are new.

摘要:I. INTRODUCTIONThrough the study of the Ordovician stratigraphy and palaeontology of N China made by A. W. Grabau, Y. C. Sun and F. F. Mathieu, major stratigraphic subdivisions were established. In 1922, Grabau made an extensive study of the Ordovician fossils of N China, chiefly cephalopods from the Machiakou limestone. In 1935, Sun published a monograph On the

摘要:I. INTRODUCTION Bordering the SW margin of the Red Basin of Szechuan runs a roughly N-S mountain range which includes such mountains as Washan, Omeishan and Talliangshan (Pl. I) and for the sake of convenience is designated with the name of Liangshan Range. Among these mountains only the geology of the Omeishan region is fairly well known in consequence of the works done by many a geologist; of the Washan region, though had been visited by

摘要:INTRODUCTIONThe Haiyangshan Mountain trending in the NNE-SSW direction is situated between the Hsiangan and Kuanyang cites in NE Kuangsi. The principal mines are located on the E slope at about 200 m above Sanyutsun, a village nearly 25 km NW of Kuanyang. The tungsten mineralization in the region is confined chiefly to the quartz veins which were formed by the ore-bearing solutions along the fractures in the granodiorite shortly after its consolidation.

摘要:I. INTRODUCTIONIn July, 1946, while investigating the pyrite deposit ot Peyinchang, Kaolan,. Kansu [7], the writer noticed that the country rocks of the deposit, formerly recognized as a series of metamorphosed sedimentary rocks consisting mainly of phyllite, quartzite and schist by Mr. P. Chen [2], and Messrs. N. L. Liu, W. Y. Liang and T. C. Liu [4] who visited there in the years of 1940 and 1944 respectively, are far different in rock character as compared with the doubtless metamorphosed sedimentogenous rocks over-

摘要:I. INTRODUCTIONThe pegmatites discussed in this paper occur entirely in the granite region of Suchou (Wuhsien), Kiangsu and most of them are found within the marginal zone of the said igneous body. Although much work has been done on the Suchou granite by former geologists [19; 13; 21; 12], there is no literature dealing particularly with the pegmatites which are in intimate
