    Abstract:

    The genus Cardiograptus was first figured by Harris in 1916 and described by the same author in 1924 (1). He later studied in great details the phylogeny of Isograptus caduceus and i(?)s allies in Victoria (2). He was inclined to believe that Oncograptus is descended from Isograptus caduceus which, on arriving at a certain stage of development, has the proximal parts of the stipes in coalescence and that
