I. INTRODUCTION In November of 1937, the writer together with Messrs. C. Wang, T. C. Chow and S. H. Lee were sent by the Geological Survey of China to investigate the tin placer deposits in Fuchuan, Hohsien, Chungshan' in northeastern Kuangsi and Kianghua in southern Hunan, herein known collectively as the Fuhochungkiang
