    Abstract:

    Vertebrate fossils of Yunnan are only previously known by a few tragmentaryfinds belonging to early Tertiary and Plio-Pleistocene age. In October 1938, Mr. M.N. Bien of the Geological Survey of China discovered a rich fossiliferous formationwith two levels of vertebrate remains.
