    • A NEW IDEA OF GEOLOGICAL TECTONICS IN THE X1AOQ1NLING REGION

      Abstract:A study on the gold deposit and ductile shear zone in the Xiaoqinling region has raised the curtain on the study of multi-level and multi-stage development and evolution of tectonics in the region. This paper preliminarily defines the regional tectonic framework and the dynamic setting for its formation and evolution.According to the regional tectonic characteristics, two secondary tectonic units may be distinguished in the Xiaoqinling region: the upwarping area of the basement rock series (Taihua platform arch) in the north and the sedimentary cover area (Jingdui-Lushi platform hollow in the south; to its north is the Weihe fault depression. The Weihe fault depression and the sedimentary cover area are seperated from the upwarping area by ductile shear zones displayed by paleomylonites.Since the Mesozoic and Cenozoic, an extensional environment prevailed in the region: the south and north parts underwent multi-phase detachment and the middle part was upwarped and exposed gradually, forming a detachment-metamor-phic core complex structure, which has controlled gold deposits in the Xiaoqinling region.

      Abstract:Some greisen bodies occurring in the Xianghuapu district, Linwu County, Hunan Province, are characterized by pegmatitic texture, horizontal zonation, inhomogeneity in texture, structure and mineral assemblage, presence of melt inclusions in topaz and quartz, and enrichment in F, HaO, Li, Rb and K and depletion in Na. According to the occurrence, .textures and structures and fluid-inclusion data for these greisen bodies, the author thinks that they directly crystallized from F, H^O, Li, Rb and K-rich and Na-poor greisenic magma ("esuiite magma") under closed conditions. This conclusion has strongly been supported by the data of experimental petrology of the system granite-H2O-RF (R = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs and H+). There is no rock similar to these greisen bodies in the known igneous rocks and their altered rocks; therefore they might be regarded as a new type of. magmatic greisen, and named greisen-pegmatite by the author according to their mineral assemblage, texture, structure and origin. The paper introduces briefly the geological and geochemical features of these greisen-pegmatite bodies, makes a suggestion on classification and nomenclature of greisen-pegmatite, and discusses their lithogenetic mechanism.

      Abstract:内蒙北部苏尼特右旗以北二道井、哈拉干和红格尔地区的含铁变质岩系中变质基性火山岩Sm-Nd全岩等时线年龄为1511±76Ma,这表明该岩系属中元古代而不是以往推测的早古生代,等时线的εNd(t)值为+6.3±1.7,属亏损型地幔源区岩相学分析表明它形成于规模不大,具中等水深和较弱水动力条件的较封闭海域。据上述特征推测,华北板块北缘中曾存在中元古代初动型火山陆缘。

      Abstract:This paper discusses the posibility of palaeomagnetic research on Precambrian metamorphic rocks from the relationship between metamorphism and acquired magnetic remanence of minerals and rocks, correlation between the time for acquisition of magnetic remanence and isotopic geochronological records and influence upon directions of magnetization by rock deformation during metamorphism or oro-genic processes. Some examples of paleomagp.etic studies of early Precambrian rocks abroad are cited. Meanwhile, take for example the palaeomagnetic results from Precambrian metamorphic rocks in northern Fujian Province, this paper discusses the reliability of and their significance in geology and tectonics.

      Abstract:Lower Paleocene foraminifer fossils were first found by the author in the Tuylok Formatior. in the western part of the Tarim Basin. They include 7 ger.era and 4 species, which are quite different from the forms of the Upper Cretaceous. The present study shows that foraminfers of the Tuylok Formation are very similar to those from the Tertiary of Europe, North America ar.d Russia. The age of the Tuylok Formation, therefore, can be determined to be Early Paleocene, i. e. the Danian, rather than the Late Cretaceous as was considered before.Five foraminiferal assemblages are recognized ir, the Paleocene of the Kuzgongsu section and Artash section, which are from the bottom upwards as follows;1.the Cibicides-Cibicidoides assemblage2.the Spiroplcctammina-Textularia assemblage3.the Lagenammina-Haplophragmoides assemblage4.the Discorbis-Globigerina-Globorotalia assemblage5.the Nonionellina-Anomalina assemblageThe Paleocene can be divided into three formations, namely in ascending order: the Tuylok Formation, the Artash Formation and the Qimugen Fornation, based on new evidence of foraminiferal fossils and geochemical and paleoclimatic anomalies between the Tuylok Formation and the underlying Ygezya Formation (i. e. the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary found in this region).

      Abstract:Ore-forming materials of contact metasdmatic skarn type Cu-Pb-Zn polymetallic deposits which occur in the contact zone of igneous rocks and country rocks are considered traditionally as the result of magmatic differentiation. According to the Pb isotopic composition, four types of relationships among ore lead, magmatic rock lead and country rock lead may be distinguished: ( 1 ) ore lead is consistent with magmatic rock lead and very different from country rock lead; ( 2 ) ore lead, ratios are higher than those of magmatic rock lead. and. lower than those of country rock lead; ( 3 )ore lead, ratios are lower than those of magmatic rock lead and higher than those country rock lead; ( 4 ) the 206Pb/204Pb ratio of ore is lower than those of magmatic rock lead and. country rock lead.. Ore lead of type 1 deposits is derived from magma; ore leads of types 2 and 3 deposits are the mixture of magmatic rock lead and country rock lead, and ore lead of type 4 deposits is the mixture of magmatic rock lead, country rock lead and lower crust lead.

      Abstract:There occur high-salinity belts of oil-field water in areas of oil-migrating faults, i. e. contemporaneous faults connecting source rocks and nor.source rocks, in the Dongying and Huimin basins. There belts are not only consistent with the distribution of known oil and gas pools but there appears positive correlation between the anomalous salinity of water and petroleum reserves. Take the Dongxin, Xianhezhuang and Linshang oil fields for example, the paper analyses the genetic relation and association between the oil-field water and the formation of oil and gas pools. The geological reserves of petroleum in a new prospect area of the basin has been quantitatively predicted by the correlation curves and, which have been confirmed by drilling.

      Abstract:Studies of the geology, types and composition of fluid inclusions and stable iso-topic composition show that auriferous quartz veins in the Jinshan shear zone type deposit, Jiangxi Province, was formed by mineralization and superimposition of early-formed barren quartz veins by late-stage native gold when the former were subjected to cataclasis and mylonitization. Native gold superimposition occurred by means of the action of subsurface hydrothermal waters; therefore the factor responsible for the deposition of native gold was mainly the phase separation of ore fluids.

      Abstract:Gold deposits related to the Shuiquangou-Hougou subalkaline rocks is a new type of gold deposit in China, which has attracted attention of many geologists. The gold deposits in the study area can be divided into two types: the Dongping type and the Hougou typs. The petrological, petrochemical and geochemical characteristics of the subalkaline rocks show that the provenance of the rocks is the lower crust and upper . mantle. One of the geological characteristics of the gold deposits is intense potash feldspar alteration. Several new minerals have been discovered in ores of the Dongping gold deposit. By means of studies of isotope geology, mineral inclusions and trace elements of the gold deposits in this area, it is considered that these deposits belong to magmatic hyclrothermal gold deposits associated with subalkaline. rocks.
