The first SHRIMP bought from Australia has been installed and run in the Laborat ory of SHRIMP Beijing (SHRIMP BJ), Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. The l aboratory is built with the cooperation of the Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is expec ted that many experts in China and abroad will make use of the machine for zirco n geochronology and other researches. So it is necessary to introduce the method for the users, e.g., how to make a mount for the SHRIMP dating, and the procedu re of the dating, which the authors learned when they were trained in Australia and is now used in SHRIMP BJ
