There are four active volcano groups: Changbaishan volcano,Wudalianchi volcanic group,Longgang volcanic swarm and Jingpohu volcanic cluster in northeastern ChinaThese active volcanoes are of potential dangers of eruption Eruptions fr om active volcanoes in northeastern China can generate catastrophic haz ards and cause environmental problems: pyroclastic falls, lahars, pyroclastic fl ows and aval anches of volcanic fragmentsIt is necessary to make a special survey of the vo lcanic hazards in northeastern China as it is an area highly vulnerable to volca nic hazards of various types. The most urgent task is to reconstruct the histo ry and onodelling of volcanic eruption and compile maps for prediction of volcan ic hazards.
