Abstract:Based on the discovery of the Wenlockian to early Pridolian Chitinozoans, microfossils(including phytodebis and acritaches),nematophyte plant fossils and fishes from the middle and upper part of the Fentou Formation, the Maoshan Formation, the Xikeng Formation, the Huixingshao Formation, the Xiaoxiyu Formation and their coeval strata in the Yangtze platform,China, the following conclusions can be made:(1)The age of these formations is of Wenlockian,Ludlovian and early Pridolian (see Table 6),but it was not of late Telychian age reported by Chen Xu et al.,2002 (Table 5).(2)These formations can be correlated with the Wenlockian to early Pridolian rocks (Table 7),butit can not be correlated with the Telychian rocks in the British Isles (Table 5);(3)The age of bodily uplift in the Yangtze Platform is the late Silurian age,it was reported by T.K.Huang,1945(Fig.1)and it was not the late Telychian age reported by Rong Jiayu et al.,1990; Chen Xu et al.,2002(Table 5).
