Abstract:Most of geological hazards occur in geological environments with three\|dimensional spatial features. Therefore, the data of geological hazard surveying and monitoring should be analyzed by the three\|dimensional geographic information system (3D GIS). Based on a discussion of 3D GIS functions of three\|dimensional spatial data creation and spatial analyses, taking a landslide model as an example, this paper analyzes the visualization of three\|dimensionalgeological body and the geoscietific map making. 3D GIS is a powerful tool in themanagement, analysis, query and output of geoscientific spatial information. It will contribute to the realization of data collection, information sharing, automatic analysis, visualization and dynamic output in the assessment of geological hazards and the study of mitigating hazard losses.
