Based on field observations and relevant research reports, the author presen t s in this paper his own viewpoint that the volcanic rocks of Quannan County are pyroclastic rocks. According to the stratigraphic distribution and phytolite and c orrelation with eastern Guangdong, the author suggests that the volcanic ro cks of the Zhongzhai—Nanjing area should belong to the Early Jurassic.
