Abstract:Many silver—multimetallic deposits are found in the central section of the nort hern margin of North China p latform. They are spatially controlled by the large scale deepseated basement f aults with a strike of WestEast formed preMesozoic and the late Mesozoic tec t o nomagmatic belt extending along the direction of NE. So they formed the silver—multimetallic province distributing along the NE to WE direction in form of long belt. Genetically, their mineralization has intimate relationship with the two volcani c activities, which are Dahongyu volcamism errupted during Mesoproterozoic wi th a alkalibasalt dominated volcanic rock series and Yanshanian volcanism erru p ted during Mesozoic with a alkalized intermediate and acidic rock series. The P aleoproterozoic granulitite, some beds of Meso and Neoproterozoic sedimentar y ro cks and rocks from the Zhangjiakou volcanic cycles of Mesozoic Yanshanian have t he characteristics of metal source with high concentration of metallic elements , su ch as Ag,Cu,Pb,Zn. silver—multimetallic deposits are geologically and geochemic ally classified into four main types which are AgPbZn, AgCu, AgAu and AgMn type respectively.
