Abstract:With regard to magmatism, lithochemical data are often used to investigate the origin of magma , the mixing of different magmas, hybridization of wall rocks, the evolution and solidification of magma , etc. Combination of research results of experimental petrology and petrography has yielded a basic petrological theory frame. Recently, supplementary and more intersive experiments have been conducted to account for unusual petrographical and petrological phenomena or problems and related magmatic processes. Magma dynamics describes quantitatively magmatic processes by means of the fluid dynamics method, on which basis theoretical models are constructed. Based on recent data of lithogeochemistry, experimental petrology and magma dynamics, this paper reports some advances in the study of magmatic processes.
