    Abstract:

After the establishment of plate tectonics in the 1970s, the global geophysical survey of the crust and mantle obtained sufficient observation data and accurate images of physical parameters of underground structures in the earth's crust and mantle, which provided an achievable basis for the study of continental dynamics to overcome the problems exist in plate tectonics. Based on the geophysical imaging of the mantle and crust, the researches of continental dynamics aims mainly to combination with multidisciplinary data for global comparison. Combined with paleogeography and geomagnetic data, the global comparison includes the seismic velocity disturbances, resistivity disturbance and the medium density and magnetization anomalies, which provide a great deal of evidences for the study of the nonplate pattern of the earth's material motion in the study of continental dynamics. The multidisciplinary results of global comparative studies show that the mechanical properties of continental and oceanic lithospheres are very different from the physical properties, and it is necessary to study the matter motion in the shallowmantle by jumping out of the concept of plates. At the same time, the lithosphere itself has no power source of plate motion, and must be studied together with the movement of asthenosphere materials in order to fully understand the behavior of the lithospheric movement. From the results of the geophysical 3D imaging in recent years, we can obtain information about the movement of matter and the characteristics of the material movement that has occurred in the deep crust and mantle by comparing the threedimensional seismic wave velocity and resistivity disturbance images that are difficult to observe on the earth's surface. Several typical examples are presented in the paper.
