    Abstract:

Abstract: Luminescence dating method is an important dating tool in the Quaternary chronology. The development of the luminescence technology has undergone the stage from thermoluminescence (TL) to optically stimulated luminescence (OSL). The main carrier minerals in the OSL dating are feldspars and quartzs. Based on the various testing purposes, the pretreatment methods have certain differences. On the basis of previous work, we have detailed summarized the pretreatment on how to obtain pure feldspars or quartzs from three types of luminescence dating samples: sediments, ceramics and exposed rocks.
