    Abstract:

More than ten ore deposits including Au deposit, Mo deposits and Pb—Zn deposits have been discovered in the Xiong’er Mountain area, Henan Province, indicating good potential for mineral resources in this area. However, fewer attentions have been paid to constrain the sources of the ore forming metals for these deposits. And there are different viewpoints on this object between previous researchers. In this study, we review the published Pb isotopic compositions for the strata, igneous rocks, and various ores in the Xiong’er Mountain area, and use these Pb database to calculate some Pb isotopic parameters further. Based on detailed comparison of Pb isotopes and associated parameters for the strata, igneous rocks, and various ores in this area, we propose that ore forming metals of these deposits cloud be from igneous rocks. According to transmagmatic fluids ore forming system, the magmas were probably derived from the Neoarchean Taihua basement which was undergone strong rock—fluid interaction by the ore forming fluids. Thus, these magmatic rocks have distinguished Pb isotopic compositions with the metamorphic core complex of the Taihua Group that outcrops on the surface in this area.
