    Abstract:

Recent advances and applications of ICP-MS in geological survey are briefly introduced. The new methods include. Determination of trace and ultra-trace platinum group elements by nickel sulfide fire assay-ICPMS; Determination of 47 trace multi-elements by pressurized acid digestion ICP-MS; Direct determination of tellurium by pressurized acid digestion -ICPMS with ethanol as a signal enhancer; Simultaneous determination of iodine and bromine by ICP-MS with semi-fusion or pressurized dilute ammonia digestion.
