    Abstract:

The thesis has reseached on geology. petrology, geochemistry a nd chronology for Shangshu volcanic rocks that corespond to the Banxi formation in the upper proterozoic subera. It is proposed that this volcanic rocks were di vided into two group: first one is the red subaerial cakealkalic mediumhigh potossium volcanic rocks and alkaline shoshonite that were formed in middleupp er proterozoic era; second one is the green submarine lowmedium potossium thol eiitic volcanic rocks that were formed in the middlelower palaeozoic era. It is recognize that the Banxi formation represented the ancient continent from northeastern Jiangxi province must be resolved: the red subaerial volcanic rocks is a part of Jiangnan ancient continent, it corespond to Banxi formation; but th e green submarine volcanic rocks not belong to the Banxi formation and must sep arate from Jiangnan ancient continent.
