    Abstract:

Dating of young volcanic eruption is sentinel because of the need to assess vol canic hazards, but there has not been a reliable, direct dating method for young volcanics. The test of electron spin resonance dating method for recent volcani cs is described here, there is no E signal in quartz from volcanics, the signa l of Ge in quartz from young volcanics is very weak. The ages of three phases of volcanics by Ge signal were obtained. The ESR age of pantellerite at Qixiangzha n is 3930 a BP, and the trachyte under pantellerite has a ESR age of 17500~209 0 0 a BP.
