Abstract:Holocene eruptive products of the Tianchi volcano, Changbai Mountains, include dif ferent types of explogenetic clastic rocks(SiO2=70%~73%,K2O+Na2O=10%~ 11%)of p antelleritic pumice,welded tuff and clastogenetic lava. Studies of mineralogy (r ockforming minerals and remnant minerals) , major elements,trace elements and S r and Nd isotopes of Holocene volcanic rocks suggest that volcanic rocks of Holo cene,c oneforming stage and shieldforming stage of the Tianchi volcano are comagmat ic pro ducts evolved from mantle sources. Holocene volcanic rocks have strong negative a nomalies of Eu, Ba, Sr, Ti, reflecting that the magma evolution is controlled by strong differentiation crystallization of plagioclase.
