    Abstract:

Holocene eruptive products of the Tianchi volcano, Changbai Mountains, include dif ferent types of explogenetic clastic rocks(SiO2=70%~73%,K2O+Na2O=10%~ 11%)of p antelleritic pumice, welded tuff and clastogenetic lava. Studies of mineralogy (r ockforming minerals and remnant minerals) , major elements, trace elements and S r and Nd isotopes of Holocene volcanic rocks suggest that volcanic rocks of Holo cene,c oneforming stage and shieldforming stage of the Tianchi volcano are comagmat ic pro ducts evolved from mantle sources. Holocene volcanic rocks have strong negative a nomalies of Eu, Ba, Sr, Ti, reflecting that the magma evolution is controlled by strong differentiation crystallization of plagioclase.
