    Abstract:

The AuAg polymetallic deposits are originally divided into four type s: the epith ermal type, intermediate—acid porphyric type, breccia pipe type and alkali porp hyric ty pe. Their metallogenic tectonic settings are summarized as the ancient island arc col lisional belt, active continental margin of backarc, Mesozoic—Cenozoic island arc , continental rift, intraplate deepseated fault and Mesozoic active magnetic st ructural belts superimposed on Paleozoic fold system. Those deposits in the east ern China and other areas have close relationship to ancient basement and feat ure in a seco ndary mineralization. The tectonic settings and metallogenic characteristics of the deposits in China are not comparable with those in the east an d sout hwest Pacific Ocean.
