    Abstract:

Based on the characteristics of gold deposits relevant to granites in the eastern Qiuling region, a comprehensive discussion of the relations between granite and gold mineralization is made in this paper. The gold deposits related to granites in eastern Qiuling are classified into two series: the gold deposits series related to hypabyssal granites derived from deep sources and the gold deposit series related to plutonic granites derived from shallow sources. The relations of granites of different genetic series to gold mineralization are completely different. The hypabyssal granites derived from deep sources are closely-related to gold mineralization. Both of them appears to be derived from the same sources and formed contemporaneously and in the same space. The gold abundance in these rocks is high. According to the petrography of ore-hosted granites, the gold deposits can be divided into three types: porphyry, explosion-breccia and porphyry-explosion breccia types. The platonic granites derived from shallow sources are not likely the parent rocks of gold deposits. The gold deposits occurring in tectonic fractured zones in plutonic granites bodies are mainly related to tectonic processes after the formation of granites and can fall into two types of gold deposit, namely, the altered tectonic rock type and the quartz vein type. In addition, the geological and geochemical features of granites related to the two series of gold deposits and tectonic evolution of the Qinling erogenic belt are briefly discussed in this paper.
