    Abstract:

The Changle-Dongshan structural zone is a part of the Circum-West PacificMesozoic NE-trending linear structural belt in the southeastern coast of China. Itis divided into three subzones from west to ease: the Fuqing-Yunxiao calcalkalivolcanic rock zone, Changle-Dongshan ductile shear zone and Pingtan-Dongshanmetamorphic terrane. The volcanic rock zone is characterized by Late Jurassicshallow-level brittle brachyfolds. The metamorphic terrane is an exotic terrane. The protoliths of Early Paleozoic age had been supperposed by polyphase deforma-tion (Pre-J, J, K_1). The main phase witnessed the ductile thrust shear deformationfrom NW to SE in the Jurassic. The metamorphic terrane accreted to the marginof the Eurasian continent in the terminal Late Jurassic. The ductile shear zone isan Early Cretaceous sinistral strike-slip simple shear zone, superposed upon theaccretionary zone of metamorphic terrane.
