To respond the rural revitalization strategy, the construction of geo- cultural village is in full swing, however, the planning of geo- cultural village lags behind the construction of geo- cultural village. To implement the strategy of rural revitalization, planning first is necessary. Hence, it is necessary to lead the construction of geo- cultural village with the planning of geo- cultural village. In this study, the geo- cultural village planning is defined as a special planning under the System of Territorial Spatial Planning, and some suggestions are put forward to build a special planning system of natural and cultural resources protection under geological background. In view of the delineation of the scope, proposed that the scope of geological resources should be demarcated first, and then the planning scope of geological and cultural villages should be comprehensively delineated. On the basis of comparative analysis of the main contents of geo- cultural village planning, geopark planning and village planning, combined with the exploration experience of the Dazhoutang geo- cultural village planning, Jiangxi Province, 15 main contents of geo- cultural village planning are defined, including 9 mandatory contents and 6 guiding contents. In the planning content, we should pay attention to highlighting geological industry, highlighting geological characteristics, integrating geoscience culture and linking up spatial planning.
