Abstract:It is of great significance to find out the diagenetic age, geochemical characteristics and tectonic setting of the granite in the Bairiqili area for discussing the tectonic evolution of the PaleoTethys Ocean in East Kunlun. In this paper, we present a detailed investigation of the petrology, zircon U-Pb chronology, Lu-Hf isotopes and whole rock geochemistry of the moyite. Zircon U-Pb dating yields an age of 408.99±0.88Ma, indicating Early Devonian. The rocks are characterized by high contents of SiO2 and K2O and low contents of MgO, enrichment of large ion lithophile element (Rb, K, Ba), depletion of high field strength element (P, Nb, Ti, Zr), and belong to peraluminous-quasi-aluminous rock. The trace element characteristics show strong negative Eu anomaly, and the distribution pattern of rare earth shows an obvious seagull pattern, indicating the of A-type granite features. The value is between -5.52 and 3.53, which generally show that the source region is dominated by crust source materials. The tectonic diagram indicates that the rock mass is A2-type granite, formed in the post-collision extensional setting. Combined with the characteristics of regional magmatic rocks, It is concluded that the East Kunlun orogenic belt should be in collision-extensional stage in the late Silurian, and has entered the extensional stage completely in the early Devonian.
