Abstract:Songnuo copper polymetallic deposit is located in the central segment of eastern Geza porphyry belt of southern Yidun arc. It is the newly discovered Indosinian copper polymetallic deposit in China in recent years, showing good prospecting potential. This article through the LA ICP MS zircon U Pb dating method to obtain crystallization age of brass mineralization quartz monzonite porphyry is 204.7+1.4Ma (MSWD = 0.21). The geochemical characteristics of Songnuo ore bearing quartz monzonite porphyry shows that rock is characterized by Al rich(Al2O3=14.03% to 15.99%, the average is 15.19%) and alkali rich (K2O+Na2O=6.82% to 7.99%), which belongs to the high K calc alkaline series and shoshonite series, showing the characteristics of quasi aluminous (A/CNK=0.793 ~ 1.025, the average is 0.92). The rocks are enriched in LREEs and significant fractionation between LREE and HREE (LaN/YbN=13.32 ~ 24.32) , and enriched in LILEs (Ba, Th, U, Sr), and depleted in HFSEs (Ta, Nb, Ce, P, Ti). Rock belongs to the I type granite. The metallogenic epoch of Songnuo metallogenic rockbody occurred in the late Indosinian. The ore forming materials are mainly derived from deep magma. Regional tectonic evolution and lithogeochemical characteristics show that the ore bearing rock body is formed in volcanic arc tectonic environment. Its formation is closely related with the westward subduction of Garze—Litang oceanic crust. Combined with the study on geochemical and Zircon U Pb dating, Songnuo copper polymetallic deposit and Pulang copper deposit have similar geochemical characteristics and rock forming and ore froming ages and they show larger resource potential and good prospecting potential.
