Abstract:Wellknown as “the Country with a Thousand Islets”, Pingtan lies in the center of the east coast of Fujian province, 120 kilometers from Fuzhou. It faces Xinzhu across the sea with only 68 sea miles'distance, which is the nearest place from the Chinese Mainland to Taiwan. It has served as an important economic communication window to Taiwan eversince ancient time.Tides flowing and ebbing, sea erosion physiognomy has thus been created. The scene is varied, unique, and vast, representing queerness, quiethess and precipice. The most interesting places are: Banyang Stone Scene, the biggest sea eroded pillar in China; the mysterious Donghai Fairyland, with Fairy Well, Fairy Cave, Fairy Cliff, Fairy Terrace, Fairy Valley in it; the naked “Haintan God” lies vividly on the beach with his head on the sand and legs stretching to the sea; known as “the Grand View Garden of Animals”, Nanzhai Stone Scene has an enchanting view of stones assuming the shapes of animals and human beings, granite forest with green trees and caves one after another.
