Lack of simple specialized administration softwares is the neck of bottle that restricts the administration modernization of the geological and mineral sector. The characteristics and functions of "China Gold Geology Information System" develo ped based on the GIS platform are briefly introduced in this paper. The application pr ospects of the system in the geological and mineral sector are also discussed.
