Outcrops of Mesoproterozoic Dahongyu potassic phonolites are q uite widespread in Pinggu, Beijing and Jixian, Tianjin. This paper briefly summa rizes petrologic characters of the potassic phonolites in terms of petrography, petrochemistry and mineralogical composition. The K2O content is usually more than 10% and the major minerals include potassium feldspar in the rocks. The aut hors devoloped a technological process for the comprehensive utilization of po tassic phonolites. The process is composed of roasting, synthesizing, acidulatin g, evaporating crystallization, etc. The products of the process include 13X zeo lite, K2CO3 and SiO2· H2O.
