Abstract:The AuAg polymetallic deposits are originally divided into four type s: the epith ermal type, intermediate—acid porphyric type, breccia pipe type and alkali porp hyric ty pe. Their metallogenic tectonic settings are summarized as the ancient island arc col lisional belt, active continental margin of backarc, Mesozoic—Cenozoic island arc , continental rift, intraplate deepseated fault and Mesozoic active magnetic st ructural belts superimposed on Paleozoic fold system. Those deposits in the east ern China and other areas have close relationship to ancient basement and feat ure in a seco ndary mineralization. The tectonic settings and metallogenic characteristics of the deposits in China are not comparable with those in the east an d sout hwest Pacific Ocean.
