Abstract:The time gap between rock and ore formation exists in many gold deposits in the world. The time gap may be classified into the real-time gap, quasi-time gap and pseudo-time gap according to the meanings of the ages of rock and ore determined by different methods. The realtime gap is relative, the quasi-time gap is usually used, and the pseudo-time gap results from slowly cooling, thermal reseting, and false sampling. The deep-seated comagmatic hydrothermal mineralization model, modified mineralization model, and deep-seated metamorphic hydrothermal mineralization model may be constructed for the explanations of the real-time gap. Different models may explain different gold deposits formed in different geological times and areas.
