The middle Xiaoxianzhuang and Shuinan Members of the Lower Cretaceous Laiyang Forma—tion in the Laiyang basin are completely developed in the Zhucheng and Laiyang depressions andhave the highest genetic potential in the basin．Coarse elastic rocks are well developed in thebasin，but most of them are at the high—maturity diagenetic stage and have poor physical proper—ties．Regional cap rocks are absent in this area，but 10cal cap rocks are present in many places． There are many types of non—structural traps，which are main types in the area and are wellpreserved．Through an analysis of the conditions of petroleum geology，this paper suggests thatthe basin has good hydrocarbon prospects，in which the north—central part of the Zhucheng de—pression，Laiyang depression，Wandi graben and Jiwangtong hollow have the best prospects．
