This Paser discusses the application of dipmeter log data in the study of sedi-mentary microfacies in the Machang area. Through special processing of the dipme-ter log date combined with core observation and conventional log data, the authorsverified the model of dipmeter interpretation, determined successfully the beddingtypes of sandbody and the direction of paleocurrents and indicated the direction ofsandbody extension and thickening as well as the features of deposition and distri-bution of four sedimentary microfacies in the Shasanzhong Submember of Machang.These research achievements have been used for sand bed correlation,developmentand water inection, well network adjustment and prediction of the gentic types ofsandbody so as to direct exploration and development of the area.
