Research on massive sulfide deposits in the past ten years has made great much advances in deposit classification, mineralization and alteration features, ore textures and structures, ore deformation and metamorphism, deposit models and formation mechanisms, sources of metals and sulfur, properties and sources of mineralizing fluids, and mineralizations on modern seafloors. A review is given on these advances in this paper.
