    Abstract:

The latest drilling confirmed that gas-rich continental shale was developed in the Shahezi Formation of Lower Cretaceous in Songliao Basin. Well JLYY1, drilled by OGS, CGS, obtained 76000 m3 high-yield shale gas production, which is the first shale gas production in Shahezi Formation, realizing a breakthrough in continental shale gas exploration. The well JLYY1 confirmed that the continental shale gas resource potential is huge in the Lower Cretaceous Shahezi Formation in Songliao Basin, moreover, it has the conditions to obtain high shale gas production. This breakthrough is willing to drive the exploration of Lower Cretaceous continental shale gas in Songliao Basin and its periphery. The latest research recognizes that the continental shale of Shahezi Formation of Lower Cretaceous in Songliao basin is characterized by the development of primary organic matter, rich in carbonate minerals, mixed genesis siliceous minerals and the development of matrix pore and foliation fracture composite pore and fracture system, which are favorable conditions for the enrichment of continental shale gas
