    Abstract:

The Erenhot basin is an important uranium- producing basin in northern China. In recent years, a number of paleo- valley sandstone- type uranium deposits have been discovered in the middle of the basin, indicating a high potential for uranium prospecting in this area. Based on the principle that the uranium mineralization is related to stratigraphic, faults, sands, redox transition zones and other factors, comprehensive exploration research has been carried out to survey the mineralization geological environment, characteristics of gravity anomalies, magnetic anomalies and radioactivity anomalies on the plane, and the seismic response characteristics on the profile. Finally, a comprehensive geophysical prediction model for favorable areas has been established. On the plane, the mineralized body is mainly located in the gradient zone of residual gravity anomaly, the value range is -1×10-5~1×10-5m/s2, and is mainly located in the “U” type and “high- low” half “U” type soil radon anomaly zone, and in the “high- low” half “U” shaped transition zone of residual magnetic anomaly. On the profile, the mining area is mainly located in the seismic facies of a wide and gentle “U” shaped infilled channel; the two sides and inside of the “U” shaped channel are mostly curved, discontinuous, steep and other similar characters of faults, and the mineralized bodies show the characteristics of chaotic seismic reflections with medium- weak amplitude, medium- low frequency and low continuity. Using this prospecting model, a prospecting target area was preliminarily predicted in the middle of the Erenhot Basin and verified by geological drilling data. It shows that an integrated prospecting method and prediction model of “gravity+seismic+radon+magnetic” established in this paper can effectively improve the exploration and efficiency of sandstone uranium deposit prospecting in the Erenhot Basin, and provide a useful reference for the exploration of uranium deposits in similar areas.
