    Abstract:

Tectonic geomorphology is a combination of deep tectonic and surface processes to study formation and evolution of landforms, and to explore the interaction between the earth’s spheres. In this paper, several key issues in the study of tectonic geomorphology are briefly discussed, such as the dynamic topography caused by mantle convection, methods of paleoelevation evaluation, feedbacks between climate, erosion and tectonics,as well as quantitative study of erosion, rock strength and stress. Further, the principle and development of low temperature thermochronology, one of the main dating methods for tectonic geomorphology, areintroduced. The effects of topography and thermal cooling on erosion ratesused in the application of lowtemperature thermochronology are discussed,as well as numerical simulation models of tectonic geomorphologyrelated to low temperature thermochronology.
