Abstract:This paper is based on the latest achievements of regional geological survey and mineral exploration, combined with the comprehensive analysis of the geotectonic background, gravity field, tectonic unit, and the rockand orecontrolling structural characteristics in important deposits (fields). We study the transform like fault in the northern Jiangxi Province, and also theoretically explore its formation mechanism and rockand orecontrolling role. The results show that the transform like fault, which is a set of lateral faults located above the subduction zone of the Jinningian oceanic crust in southern China, develops in the structural unit of NEE—NE direction of the obducted sheet, and is affected by different vertical subduction rates and deep mantle uplift vertical transform like faults. It matches with the unit boundary faults, and transforms its properties along the horizontal and vertical displacements of the faults. It is also the rockand orecontrolling fault of the important exogenous sedimentation (metamorphic) and endophytic magmatic hydrothermal minerals in the region, accompanied by the tectonic evolution and the formation of the vast ore concentration area around the Poyang Lake. There are some differences between the main and the auxiliary in spatial scale, among which the main transformation fault leads to the vertical accretion (expansion) and vertical thickening (folding) of the rock (ore) layers in the Xinyu Iron and the Fengcheng Coal mines, and superimposes the subsequent transverse brittle fault structural deformation, which maintains the relatively weak strain environment and plays a protective role in the mineral resources. The auxiliary transformation fault controls the metallogenic geological elements of WCuSn polymetallic deposits, such as the Xiushui Xianglushan Wdeposit, the Wuning Dahutang WCu polymetallic ore fields, the Jiurui Cu polymetallic ore belt, the Dean Pengshan Sn polymetallic ore field, the Duchang Yangchuling WMo deposit, the Boyang Lianhuashan WSn ore concentration area, the Fuliang Zhuxi WCu polymetallic ore field and the Dexing Cu polymetallic ore field. It shows that the mechanism of rockand orecontrolling is different between uplift area and depression area, but the metallogenic mechanism is similar.
