Abstract:Water is the lifeline of economic development and social progress. It is of great significance for the sustainable development and utilization of groundwater in the region and the protection of water environment to study the law of groundwater resources and calculate the amount of groundwater resources and evaluate the potential of groundwater exploitation. Based on the 1∶50,000 Pinglidian map, this study took the Pinglidian and Daidao areas of Laizhou city as a research area to analyze hydrological characteristic using data collecting, hydrogeological mapping, geophysical exploration, hydrogeological drilling and experiments, hydrogeochemical investigation and groundwater dynamic monitoring. According to the results above, the research area is divided into five calculation zones for groundwater resources (including 11 calculation groups and 2 calculation subgroups). Data statistics and exploitation quantity were used to investigate the development and utilization status of groundwater resources in each calculation area. Based on selection of suitable hydrogeological parameters, the amount of rainfall infiltration recharge, river leakage recharge, irrigation recharge, lateral runoff, and allowable groundwater extraction in the area using water balance method. The allowable amount of groundwater extracted in the research area is 3915. 675×10 4 m 3/a. The pore water inflow of loose rocks in the Wanghe hydrogeological division is >500 m 3/d and therefore, the groundwater potential is relatively large, and other divisions, subgroups and groups have an average potential for exploitation of groundwater resources.
