    Abstract:

    On the basis of previous studies, this paper summarizes the controlling role of stratigraphy, tectonics and magmatic rocks on the output and distribution of silver deposits in China. The most common ore bearing strata of silver deposits in China are Devonian, Mesoproterozoic, and Carboniferous. Carbonate and metamorphic rocks are the most important litologies. The marginal rifting and accretion zones of old blocks, regional deep and large faults, multicomponent structural convergence positions and continental fault basins are the important controlling factors for the occurrence and distribution of silver deposits in China. Marine volcanic, continental volcanic, and intrusive rocks control the output of silver deposits in different regions of China. This paper analyzes the prospecting outlook and regions of large and super large silver deposits in China, and notes that Yidun volcanic islandarc belt, border areas of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou province and Daxinganling metallogenic are the potential prospecting areas for large and super large silver deposits. The prospecting and research of large and super large silver deposits of continental volcanic rock type should continue to be strengthened, and silver deposits in fluorite deposits and black rock series areas as well as silvermanganese deposits in volcanic rocks area should be explored. Finally, it is suggested that the silver deposits should also be prospected for tungsten, tin and other minerals.
