    Abstract:

We used the methods include paleo-geothermal recovery method and basin-modeling method to recover source rock thermal evolution history and hydrocarbon generation history. The present paleo-thermal gradient of Weibei uplifting is 3.12℃/100m according temperature-depth curve for borehole. This region entered rapid subsidence stage in Permian and Triassic, and started the slow subsidence stage from early Jurassic to early Cretaceous, and began the uplifting stage after the late Cretaceous, and the erosion thickness is between 1100m to 1300m. The Ordovician source rock of Xunyi entered the oil-generation window in early Permian(270Ma) and entered maturity oil-generation in late Triassic(210Ma)and started generating natural gas largely in late Jurassic(150Ma). In late Cretaceous(96Ma), the burial depth of the formation reached the maximum depth and the paleo-thermal reached the maximum, meanwhile, the Ordovician source rock got the natural gas-generation peak. The geothermal gradient is up to 5.0℃/100m and the main gas-generation period of Xunyi is Early Cretaceous based on the result of basin thermal history molding.
