    Abstract:

Dexing copper mine is located in the northeast of Jiangxi province, which is important production base of nonferrous metal in China, also cause some mine environment question. This paper analysed characteristics of heavy metals content in environment medium (soil ,bottom mud, food ,vegetable) of the primary (T1) and the second terrace (T2),which is at Dawu river ,Fuxi river and Lean river (dexing section) of the mining area. Meanwhile, evaluating the heavy metals health risk in soils and crops for adults and children,to reveal the influence of mining activities on the surrounding environment and human health. Results show that the average content of heavy metals in soil are higher than background values, especially Cu . Copper content in soil of Dawu river reaches 86.8% than the national standard of the grade Ⅱ, average content of Cu, As and Hg is higher in T1 than T2.Contrasting to background value, Cu is the biggest multiples of all heavy metal in bottom mud of Dawu river and Fuxi river. Cu,As,Hg and pH has significantly positive correlation between soil and bottom mud. Only average content of Cu in rice exceeded the national food hygiene standards, which the maximum is 41.8%, the enrichment of Cd in rice was obviously higher than other heavy metals. Cd pollution in cabbage is the most serious, more than national vegetables hygienic standards for 9 ~ 14 times, and the enrichment coefficient at 2 ~ 4. Health risk assessment results show that the sum of cancer risk at 12.10 ~ 19.80 of heavy metals in soils and crops (rice and cabbage) on the human body, which is unacceptable risk. The risk of cancer at 10-3 levels is greater than the biggest accept level (10-4) that USEPA recommends. Thus, residents have great risk of cancer in the study area. The distribution of health risk of different valley has differences on the primary and secondary terrace. Not carcinogenic and cancer risk of Dawu river and Fuxi river is higer on T1than T2, but Lean river (Dexing section) on the contrary. Therefore, the cultivation of crops should also have the difference in different river terraces
