Abstract:Measurement, dating and grain size analysis of the Quarternary section in Qixinzhuang, Sanhe County, Hebei province, were carried out. The results show that the section was formed in about12.23±1.32 to 19.35±2.10Ka B.P, for the accumulation of late Pleistocene. Based on parameters of grain size, frequency distribution curves and probability accumulation curves, combined with sediment lithology and sedimentary structures, the sedimentary environment of the section, in Sanhe County, Hebei Province were relatively stable low water conditions of the river environment, and can be further subdivided into the river sand dam and flood plain deposit. The test results provide important basic information and data for the formation and development of the northern part of North China, evolution history of the Chaobai River downstream, the deposition rate of late Pleistocene, the activity difference between two discs of the new Xiadian fault and the study of the sediment environment of Dachang sag.
