〗Chlorite Characteristic of the Naruo Porphyry Cu (Au) Deposit in Tibet and Its Geological Significance

    Abstract:

    Naruo deposit is another porphyry Cu(Au) porphyry deposit with valuable exporation and research significance after discovery of Duobuza,Bolong porphyry deposit and Tiegelongnan epithermal deposit in Duolong ore region of Bannu Belt,Tibet. This paper concentrates on studying chlorite mineralogy and chemistry component,besides carefully field research work,and discusses the genesis and exploration direction of the deposit. Chlorite alteration well developed in Naruo,and chlorites can be distributed into 3 types: a-cement chlorite in breccia as matrix,b-alteration chlorite in porphyry,c-chlorite between gaps of quartz in feldspathic quartz sandstone. The three types chlorite obviously distribute in spatial,including a type located in SW of the ore district,and b type located in middle and NE,and c type mainly distributed between a and b(part of them not). The EMPA analysis show a high AlIV、Fe2+/(Fe2++Mg2+)和FeT/(FeT+Mg) content (0.85、0.52、0.59 respectively),and b is lower(0.76、0.42、0.48 respectively),c1(spatially distributed between a and b of c)is the lowest(0.75、0.31、0.4 respectively. Calculated chlorite temperature indicates that a form in the highest temperature(230.64℃) with b lower(198.88℃) and c1 the lowest(193.14℃). c1 close to b,It may because chlorites in feldspathic quartz sandstone are porphyry altered minerals. It also implies that two separated heat sources exist in Naruo,breccia is formed by another later hydrothermal solution shortly after the first porphyry invaded. This research discover AlIV,Fe2+/(Fe2++Mg2+) and Cr/Ti of chlorite perform a positive correlation to grade of Cu and Au in porphyry generally,that imply chlorite could be an indicator of mineralization in porphyry deposit. In another hand,the Cr/Ti of chlorite in breccia shows a positive correlation to Cu and Au grade as well, because Cr and Ti have an affinity with Cu. Although the thick economic ore body locate in porphyry at the middle of Naruo while the breccia is barren,but it suggest a significant potential to discover another cryptoplasmic porphyry deposit and breccia deposit SW because of huge blasting breccia and hornfels in south-west of Naruo deposit.
