    Abstract:

Through integrated researches on saline lake water and response sediments of uranium-bearing carbonate-type lakes in Erlian basin and Erdos Basin in the west of china, the authors refers that uranium in carbonate-type lakes resourced from surrounding Mesozoic and Neozoic sediments leaching by meteoric and underground water, with which the characteristics of near and fast recharge uranium resources. The 234U/238U (ARu) of lake brine and response sediments fall in range from 0.8 to 1.2 what inclined uranium equilibrium between brine and sediments. Rich uranium content lowered ARu value tending to 1 in gypsum and salt stratum of early carbonaceous and Miocene sediments. In-chamber lake water evaporation experiment verified both relic water and sediments enrich uranium and its ARu value refers to 1 in accordance to increased amplitude of evaporation. Material phase researches of modern lake sediments revealed the majority of uranium conserved in sediments rich of organic and detritus components yet seldom in salt occurrence as the type of carbonate and absorption sealed in inter-crystal water. ARu of both lake brine and sediments are as one of key proxy to pursue the uranium content and resources for saline lake-type uranium resource.
