    Abstract:

Glacier Change is a good indicator for climatic changes. To date the Quaternary moraine sequencese can reconstruct the history of the glacial changes. In the recent years, the Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating method has been widely used in the dating of glacial sediments. In this study, we try to use the OSL method to date the moraine sequencese on the southern magin of the paleao Ice Cap of Daocheng, Sichuan,China. However, the OSL ages were out of accord with previously reported Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) ages and 10Be exposure ages from glacial deposits in the same location. In addition, some of the OSL dates did not agree with the relative geomorphologic and stratigraphic relationship of the moraines. This suggests that Partial bleaching prior to burial and the bad purity of the quartz maybe result in the uncorrectness of the dating results.
