    Abstract:

The concentration district of germanium-silver-bearing lead-zinc polymetallic ore deposits of northeast Yunnan plays an important role in the formation of Sichuan - Yunnan - Guizhou lead-zinc polymetallic mineralization domain, which is located in the southwestern margin of the Yangtze block. The ore deposits are characterized by a number of important features: very high-grade of the ore deposits, containing many useful byproducts such as germanium and silver, deep extention of ore bodies, large scales of the ore deposits, and great economic significance. The special nature of ore-forming environment is indicated by the typical geological features of such ore deposits, which are different from known types of the lead-zinc deposits discovered in both China and overseas, such as Mississippi Valley Type (MVT), vocanic hosted massive sulphide type (VHMS) and hot water sedimentary type (SEDEX). It is suggested that these ore deposits are representative of a new transitional Pb-Zn deposit type of MVT type and orogenic type deposits - Huize type (HZT). The formation of these deposits was related to an transformation of the late Hercynian tectonic extension and Indosinian orogenic extrusion, which resulted in establishing a new mineralization model - \"structure - fluid 'penetration' mineralization\" model. The formation of such ore deposits has gone through three phases: A) trusting structure and large-scale fluid migration; B) fluid \"penetration\" and gas differentiated from liquid; C) fluid unloading and forming mineralization by gravity differentiation. This model can be used to interpret the mineralizing mechanism of the lead-zinc deposits occurred in the ore deposit concentration district of Northeast Yunnan, which is undoubtedly of great importance in studying Sichuan - Yunnan - Guizhou lead-zinc polymetallic metallogenic field, and in prediction, exploration and evaluation of concealed ore localization in the deep parts and external district of the deposits.
