    Abstract:

On the basis of the analysis of the Ordovician carbonate outcrop and subsurface date in Tarim basin, the characteristics of strike-slip fault facies are variety, and there are fault core developed and undeveloped carbonate facies. In the outcroup, the fault core has the characteristics favorable for the development of fracture band, lens and slip surface, and fracture band and deformation band are developed in damage zone. A mount of carbonate fracture bands are mainly distributed in the damage zones within 50m to the fault core, most of them are opened with good infiltrating fluid. Lenses are developed in fault cores as well as in damage zones, which consist of tattered breccias are mostly tight with low porosity and permeability. There are straight intercept type and gradation band type of slip surface, with open and half filling surface. Most of the deformation bands are filled with calcite and cataclasite with fractures and dissolution vugs in local damage zone. By the comprehensive analysis of seismic profile, structural map, cohere date, the characteristics and development degree of fault facies in carbonate can be identified. The fault facies has the characteristics of segmentation and difference along strike-slip faults, which can be divided into high permeability facies and tight permeability facies. The high permeability fault facies are favorable for carbonate reservoir development with large fracture-caves. The segmentation of hydrocarbon distribution caused by the strike-slip fault facies, and formed the high permeability transporting model and tight barrier model of hydrocarbon accumulation. The fault facies characteristics and controlling on the pools is important for the reservoir model of carbonate exploration and development.
