    Abstract:

The seismic data in our study had been collected from seismographic network in North China for the past six years, and more than 12,000 valid receiver functions had been obtained. Receiving function at every station was stacked. Thickness of overlying strata and Vp/Vs ratio at the stations were acquired using fixed range simulation search techniques. Meanwhile, twenty seven points with valid data were produced, reasonably covering the whole research area. The calculation results indicate that affected by NEtrending structure, the thickness of overlying strata is increasing gradually from northwest to southeast. The Vp/Vs ratios are in proportional to the thickness of overlying strata and time delay of Pwave time, but the thickness is in inverse proportion to S wave velocity as well as the degree of looseness of the sedimentary cover. Our research shows that above results provide constraint parameters for the site conditions and seismic engineering , at same time,we consider our research provides a new technique for the oil gas exploration and reserves calcultation.
