    Abstract:

Groundwater protection from pollution has been a very important issue in northern China due to its supporting and nonsubstitutive role in social and economic development. High risk areas of groundwater pollution can be identified by vulnerability assessment and thus it can provide a decisionmaking basis for groundwater protection. The framework model and indicator system of vulnerability and risk assessment on groundwater pollution based on hazard risk theory were proposed in this paper. Taking Jining city in the northern plain as the study area, this study assessed vulnerability groundwater pollution using weights of evidence modeling and GIS. Assessment results of groundwater pollution vulnerability will be applied to protective zone of drinking well source in Jining City.
