The Gannan area (southern Jiangxi province) is famous for tungsten, hence nicknamed the tungsten capital of the world, especially quartz veintype tungsten deposits, which are easily recognized and mined. After 20 years’ explortation here, a new type of tungsten deposit, Baxiannaotype brecciatied alterated zone——quartzveintype composite tungsten deposit has been recognized. The paper studies oreforming features of this kind in detail, and proposes a new model——Five Floors+Basement for this kind of deposit, which is expected to give more help to next newround exploration for tungsten polymetals deposits in this area and also provides important guidance for exploration in largeor mediumscale tungsten deposits such as Lao'anli and Jinyin’an.
